Assistant Shop Manager
Mars, PA
Vogel Disposal Service, Inc. is seeking an assistant shop manager to manage the second shift and troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy diesel trucks.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist in managing and leading the shop employees including mechanics, welders, painters, and laborers.

- Assess and diagnose heavy diesel trucks, light trucks, and service equipment.

- Maintain a good working knowledge of the typical repairs performed in the shop include that include but are not limited to: hydraulic, fuel, exhaust, brake, suspension, electrical, and emission systems.

- Able to follow written and verbal instructions.

- Adaptable to changing work environments, competing demands, and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum 3 years experience troubleshooting and repairing problems with heavy diesel trucks.

- Employees must provide their own safety-approved work boots.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to sit/stand, walk, climb, bend/twist, crouch/crawl, and push/pull required.

- Ability to lift/carry upwards of 50-75 lbs. for short distances.
